ESTABLISHMENT:
The establishment of the Methodist University College Ghana was one of the Visions of the Methodist Church in Ghana and was mentioned by the then President of the Ghana Methodist Conference Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Asante Antwi in his inaugural speech at the 36th Annual Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana held at Cape Coast in 1997.
Bringing the Vision to reality, the Methodist University College Ghana was granted Accreditation by the Ghana Accreditation Board in August 2000 and in October 2002 got affiliated to the University of Ghana.
The University College with an initial Student Population of 80 started academic work on 20th November 2000.It currently has a student population of 2830.

VISION:
The The vision of the University College is to promote academic excellence, spirituality, morality and service through teaching and research.

MISSION:
Its mission is to impart knowledge and skills in disciplines relevant to national development within the Context of General global development, and at the same time ensure an all-round development of the Student mentally, physically and spiritually on the basis of Christian principles.
