Valedictory Speech by a Graduand at the 14th Congregation, Dansoman Campus
28th January, 2017
I give glory to God and gratitude to the authorities of Methodist University College Ghana for giving me the privilege to deliver this valedictory speech on behalf of myself and my colleague graduands.
We graduands at this 14th Congregation of the Methodist University College Ghana would first of all like to thank the Almighty God for seeing all of us through our various programmes of study here successfully. Our graduation might not be coming on as early as we had expected but we are trusting the same God of goodness and mercy to make a way for us in our search for jobs and opportunities for further studies.
We want to extend our gratitude to Management and Staff, both academic and administrative of MUCG for their commitment to giving us quality education and equipping us adequately with the requisite skills for our future careers and service to our nation.
The capacity that has been built in us here, coupled with the values imbued in us, give us so much hope that we are set to contribute significantly towards national development and also making whichever community we live or work in, a better place. We believe we are the new generation who will come and make a difference in our dear nation.
Our success path will be clearly defined by the MUCG motto; Excellence Morality Service. We pledge to be worthy ambassadors of MUCG so that through our brilliant performance and service with integrity, many more high calibre potential applicants will be attracted to MUCG. It is our prayer that very soon MUCG graduates will be many among those holding prominent positions in Ghana and beyond.
Finally, we want to ask for God’s blessings for a special group of people and thank them for being there for us throughout our period of studies here. They are our parents, guardians, sponsors and spouses. We owe you debts and debts of gratitude. We want to assure you that your sacrifice will not be in vain. It will be duly rewarded.
Today, as we graduands of the MUCG 2015/2016 year group exit this beloved University College, we want to assure the entire MUCG community that we will all endeavour to register for membership of the MUCG Alumni Association, so that we can also contribute our quota to the future development agenda of this noble University College.
Thank you all for listening.
God bless you.
